Greetings

The Nagasaki Ojika International Music Festival was founded in 2002 with the belief that "art has its origins in the richness of nature," and this year marks its 21st year.

Although it is said that it is difficult to continue a classical music festival for a long time, we have been able to continue it this far thanks to the many efforts of our sponsors, past instructors, students, and everyone on the island. Thank you very much.

Music director Susumu Aoyagi continues to tell his students every year, ``I want them to experience sounds that can only be heard here.'' In addition to seeking musical skills, the island's rich nature, delicious food, and warm hospitality from the islanders have captivated instructors and students alike, and have produced wonderful music that can only be heard here.

Last time, a new attempt was made in which local middle school and high school brass bands and brass bands performed together with instructors and students, which was very well received, increasing audience attendance, and promoting regional exchange, which is the main purpose of the music festival. We were also able to successfully connect it to

In addition, in recent years, the number of students visiting the island with their families has increased, and last time nearly 80 people stayed, increasing the number of exchange students and energizing the tourism industry.

From this year onwards, we have added new members to the executive committee, and we will work hard to continue making progress as an even more wonderful and warm-hearted music festival than ever before.

Please enjoy the miracle that continues on this small island in the West Sea.
